How to measure business growth across six systems

Revenue tells you what happened. It does not tell you why. Looking at growth as six connected systems shows which part of the business is holding the rest back.

The six systems

Acquisition is how new prospects find you. Activation is how many of them take the first valuable step. Retention is how many stay. Revenue is what each customer is worth. Operations is how well you deliver. Finance is whether growth is affordable and repeatable.

Score each one

Give each system a score out of ten from a few honest questions, and record the key number for each, such as new leads, trial to paid rate, monthly churn, average revenue per customer, delivery time and cash runway.

Compare period on period

A single month means little. Compare each number with the previous period and with businesses like yours. A system that is falling for two periods in a row is where your effort should go first.

Turn the score into actions

Pick the lowest system, choose one change, run it for a period and measure again. Grotivo automates this loop: it scores the six systems, tracks the numbers and writes department actions.
